Enter to become the next Miss Avoyelles Arts & Music Festival Queen! This year, we are thrilled to add the Teen Miss & Miss Avoyelles Arts & Music Festival titles to the competition. These competitions will serve as a local preliminary to the Miss Louisiana Organization’s Teen & Miss Louisiana Competitions!
Art in the Rafters
Join us for our 12th Annual Art in the Rafters, our annual event featuring a fashion show and exhibits by local artists, will be Wednesday, November 6th at Bailey’s on the Square. Doors at 6:00 pm. Show at 7:00 pm. This year’s theme is “Fashion Through the Ages: From Marie Antoinette to the Met.”

Marksville native, Burnell Lemoine, an accomplished ceramist in his own right, has been collecting fine artwork of all types since 1969. He has graciously allowed the Avoyelles Arts Council to showcase some select pieces from his extensive collection for all of us to enjoy! This exhibit will include works by MARY T. SMITH, REVEREND PERKINS, JOHN GELDERSMA & KAY HENDERSON just to name a few!
The exhibit will be available for viewing October 1st-31st at Gallery on the Square, 122 E. Mark St., Marksville. Gallery hours are Monday 9:30am-4:00pm & Tuesday-Friday 8:30am-4pm.

A reception open to the public will be held Thursday, October 10th from 5-7pm.
Burnell Lemoine will be present at the reception and would love to share his fascinating stories of 55 years worth of art collecting with you!
Gallery Extended Hours - Plein Air
Gallery on the Square will extend our hours of operation until 7pm on Monday, September 16th for a reception (4-7pm) featuring the Avoyelles Public Charter High School Talented Visual Arts Students "Plein Air Project" artwork and the Plein Air Marksville paintings! Please stop by the gallery to enjoy all the amazing talent we have in Avoyelles Parish, CENLA and the State of Louisiana!

Pop-Up Culinary Experience
This year’s pop-up culinary experience features Hotel Bentley Executive Chef Matt Morgan. Hosted by Dr. Celeste & Mr. Ben Luke at the historic Joffrion-Roy-Luke home, the event will feature a curated menu with wine pairings. Limited seating available. Ticket sales are first come, first served.
African Americans and the Arts
Our annual February BLACK HISTORY MONTH art exhibit reflects the 2024 National Theme "African Americans and the Arts."

1. This exhibit is open to Avoyelles students KINDERGARTEN THRU 12TH GRADE
2. One piece (submission) per student
3. Size must be 16' x 20' or smaller
4. Can be any medium, including paint, photography, collage or sculpture.
5. Submissions will be collected the week after students return from Christmas Break.
6. Exhibition will take place THURSDAY, JANUARY 25 in the ballrooms at PARAGON CASINO RESORT.

Step back in time to 1979 as we celebrate four and a half decades of arts programming in Avoyelles. We’re stoked to commemorate the righteous individuals who have contributed directly to the arts council’s work and those who have shaped the artistic landscape of Avoyelles. The night promises to be way cool as we look back on 45 years of artistic achievements and dance toward an even brighter future for the arts in Avoyelles. Help us keep this gig going!
